In conjunction with George Town Festival 2025, Cultprint is proud to present The City Of Willows, metaverse- based playable installation by Chong Yan Chuah and Simon Soon.
Opening 2nd August 2025 in George Town, Penang at the Ng Fook Thong Temple, this interactive game installation is inspired by Chinese secret societies in 19th century Southeast Asia.
Drawing from this hidden history, The City of Willows takes players on an immersive initiation rite – one that unfolds through sacred portals, lush Malayan rainforests, and familiar Southeast Asian scenes like durian stalls and temple gates.
From 2nd to the 10th of August, 2025, the public is invited to the Ng Fook Thong Temple to explore a digital sanctuary through sacred portals and mythical landscapes, guided by the hope of reaching the legendary City of Willows.
